Merrillville, IN – Join the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and Music Director/Conductor Kirk Muspratt as they start the 2014-2015 season with “Music of Motown,” Friday, September 12, 2014 at 8 pm at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, Indiana featuring the Motown Experience.
Celebrate over 50 years of Motown magic with a concert jam-packed with dazzling high-energy choreography, impeccable harmonies and those timeless Motown grooves that everyone knows and loves. Added to that is lush orchestration to perfectly compliment some of the greatest and most enduring popular music of the 20th century featuring hits from The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Miracles, The Four Tops, The Jackson Five, and even a girl group medley. The Motown Experience features former members of The Contours, The Temptations, The Miracles, and The Capitols.
In addition to the concert, guest also have the option to add the Opening Concert Gala package to their evening for pre-concert dinner and drinks at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza Celebrity Ballroom and a post-concert champagne and dessert reception at the Star Plaza Theatre. The Gala package is $115 per person in addition to their concert tickets. Proceeds benefit the Symphony’s music and education programs.
